You have a cafe, you have to order fresh food.

You are at the market........you bite into a strawberry that is dark red and shiny on the outside, looks great and exactly as a strawberry should look – but it is picked too early, (ripening process forced), hard, sour and has no flavour – but that is how they are these days. The marketing says they are the best, what a lie! They try to convince you there is nothing better but surely there are really good strawberry's out there still. They are made to look perfect but just a replica of the real thing ... but you buy them anyway. These could grow on you as everyone has the same and they are easy to find at any market. You just order them like anything else and they come without any heartache or issues you can't deal with. There are plenty to go around.

You order them each week, then one week you find out there is a temporary lull in the market and they are harder to get. Instead of worrying, you just order them. Then you find out that they are in demand, you have to fight for your share and it is more of a game than what you really want. It is now stressing you out! All for this thing that doesn't even taste beautiful. They are also going to cost more now due to the chemical ripening process. You could take it or leave it. It better look perfect as there is nothing else to get excited about. Your customers order them and approve of the familiar look so you have to please them. You can't take a risk on another product when this is taking too much energy to deal with.

The harder it is to get the order, the more you are chasing it. Are you bored or is that all life is about? You could do with a holiday just to escape this frustration. Do you put up with the whole thing and just say yes, to make it easier? Do you compromise quality just for something that is common? "I don't want to invite trouble in, I'll just pay the extra and get over it".... Or ignore the issue... Or do you consider opening up to a better product?

...you drive by an exclusive organic market, it seems to be right in your face, so you pull over and have a look at what they have ... the energy is good and you can smell sweetness in the air. You find the most exquisite smelling strawberries and the farmer is humble and does not try to sell anything to you. You bite into a strawberry that is ready naturally, does not look as hard and shiny on the outside (as the other variety), but tastes and looks beautiful, unique and natural. It makes you feel good too! Wow, are you dreaming or are you feeling really good all over, just from eating some real fruit? Your mind wanders .... how sweet, this is how they should be? The people have forgotten and go so caught up in survival that they are missing the goodness. What's wrong with the real thing? Only a lie will change that reality. What is the problem with society? You realise what you had been missing, in fact this is one of best taste sensations you've ever had! My God, this is amazing. You ask the farmer how this could be so divine. He replies with a smile, "it's organic and we grow them with love, there is nothing around like this these days, it's purely grown and it is the real thing, straight from mother earth. If you look after her, she looks after you and perhaps you could say, 100 fold".

You have the best day and enjoy your new discovery. You want more and it is so healthy. It's much more attractive than the other version as it is delicious on the inside and makes you feel good. It is like a natural aphrodisiac. "Am I that bland or has life never been so sweet?". It is such a contrast to how you felt when you bit into the other version. You won't bother eating the other ones again, they will have to be a part of the business and that is all. You laugh as you remember that you needed some hard liquor with them to make them seem more exciting, or more juicy ... or knock you out so you didn't notice. But this one is full bodied. It doesn't need adding to.

You buy a big crate and take them to your cafe for a trial, you feel happy and you start laughing and people look at you like you are on drugs. You say, "Hey, I just had a strawberry, that's all". People say, "I'm not used to seeing you this happy, what happened to you?". "Oh nothing", you say knowing they will not get it. You're on your own thing and it's great. Is nature that good and you forgot as nothing is that natural anymore? You know that you have found something very special that you will not forget in a hurry but how do you share that? Your only concern is what others think and believe and that could be stressful and pollute your new experience. They may not sell well as they don't look as fake, you have to really taste them to find out...... You have strawberry everything on the weekend, with pleasure.

Why do people destroy great things by bringing in something that looks like it should and then is hard as a rock inside? So frustrating. Your partner tried to find faults in them and points out negatives that are not even important. She tells you to forget about them and that they are not going to sell. Throwing a wet blanket over your fire and enthusiasm... But you are eating them at the same time... "Oh, how could fruit be that good, if only everyone could taste this...." This is divine as it resonates with your style of food and who you are and that will attract the better energy to you anyway. These will require more care and respect so that they are not damaged and you've never had to be so devoted to the common varieties, they are harder and do not bruise easily. Oh and it could be worth it if you feel this good everyday? Afterall you want some joy in your day and to share it around. But will these real strawberries please your regulars?

Now imagine if others said that version of strawberry you like will not work – organic costs too much and does not deliver on time and can be unreliable or unpredictable, blah blah blah. Yes, darkening your new found experience, of course, just what you expect. Who really had your taste anyway. "Stop fantasising, it's not a better option, the regular product is more popular and it will always stick with you. You can't risk the new product in case it does not last as long. You may lose business. Just forget it, you can't afford to change now, you have too much on your plate as it is. Stick with what you know and trust", your colleague says. There is so much negativity around your best experience in so long. You lose your will to enjoy the pleasure of something no-one can see. If only they could get their own supply and understand what you mean. You are observing these poisonous words already damaging your own delightful experience, making you change your mind and believe that you are in a lie and the truth is what everyone else is doing? Why do you care? Why not stand up for your own truth? Oh this is all too stressful and giving up is much easier. There is no time for this it is too hard.

Which voice in your head is true? Can you risk losing your regulars just in case they do not embrace your new brand of strawberry? They are very much into the surface of things and you can't do much about that. All you have to do is just go to the market and get the cheaper ones and then you will be on the same delivery run as everyone else. Oh but they are not really cheaper anyway. Wonder why they seemed cheaper. Perhaps because they are not the real thing. The old brand is easy and predictable and there is enough stress trying to deal with their up and down market. Always a new issue, always wanting more money, always manipulating you to stay with them. But it's easy to order the quality ones and you can make a special order. It could lift up your life being able to experience that everyday. It could be a magical experience for the customers that is different, plus give them more to appreciate. The flavour explodes in your mouth. You will probably save money in the long run but how can you be sure? Who cares if people can't recognise it or do not have your taste. They will catch on eventually. Isn't life about fun? Your risk is pleasing others and making enough sales. If your usual clients do not buy quality how will they warm to your choice? Does your good energy attract the same anyway?
